DARK MATTER

Julia Davis

Dark Matter is “an interactive artwork that uses rare earth magnets to continually redraw itself”. An artwork which explores the effects of time in relation to the body and the material world.

Armature was engaged by Davis to assist with the project from it’s inception. Extensive prototyping and testing was undertaken to garner an understanding of the unique material properties involved. This learning then feed the design process, maintaining a delicate balance of self perpetuating interactivity over the 3 month exhibition window.
